While speaking at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan on the occasion of Basava Jayanti Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said India’s history is not limited to defeat, slavery and poverty. He added that India gave the message of good governance, non violence and Satyagraha to the world. “Bharat ka itihaas sirf haar, gulaami, gareebi aur saanp aur nevley ki ladaai ka itihaas nahi hai,” PM Modi was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.
Talking about the issue of triple talaq, Prime Minister said, if enlightened people from the Muslim community will come forward and fight for what is happening with the Muslim daughters, then we will certainly find a way. He requested people not to make it a political issue. “Muslim samaj se prabudh log aage ayenge, Muslim betiyon ke sath jo guzar rahi hai uske khilaf ladai ladenge; rasta nikalenge. Main musalmaan samaj ke logon se bhi aagrah karunga, iss masle ko rajniti ki daayare mein mat jaane dijye,” he said.
PM Modi once again talked about his policy of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and said the government is doing everything possible to provide 24 hours electricity to everyone. He added that efforts are being made to help the development of everyone without any discrimination. He said Lord Basaveshwar’s words are not only the truth of life but also form the foundation of good governance. He said India has been blessed with great personalities who have transformed the society. “Our land has been blessed with greats who have transformed our society,” he said. He added that in a land where this happens, God lives.
