Hitting out at opposition over the talks of forming ‘Mahagathbandhan’, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s National Green Secretary Ram Madhav today stated that the opposition parties should come together as the country needs a good opposition, which is missing in present days. The BJP leader further stated that for the formation of any grand alliance the parties must have a coherent narrative. Lauding the Prime Minister, Madhav claimed that PM Modi has transformed politics which will no longer be hereditary, armchair, caste, sloganeering or opportunistic.
Speaking of the continuing tension between India and Pakistan, Madhav said that the country must have a transactional relationship with its neighbouring country and the BJP government will work on it if Pakistan ‘behave well’. Hitting out at separatist Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Madhav said that its tragic that no one is attacking Geelani for provoking youths in the Kashmir valley, while his own grandson is on a government job. He also criticised the media and political commentators for questioning the Jammu and Kashmir government instead of the senior separatist leader.
Earlier, speaking at the India Today Conclave 2017, BJP president Amit Shah said the people had rejected dynasty and caste-based politics. Further lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah stated media never praises the Narendra Modi government’s efforts. Shah further slammed the Congress vice-president saying that he will never take a job to advise Rahul Gandhi. He also criticised AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal and BSP’s Mayawati’s charges claiming that the election has been conducted in improper manner by tampering EVMs, Shah stated that EVMs are tamper-proof.
Also speaking at the conclave, President Pranab Mukherjee lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called him a ‘true democrat’. Citing that the PM has picked up very quickly, the President said Modi has his own way to deal with things. He also claimed that PM Modi has mastery over foreign affairs.
